Playful digital learning with KidsBeeTV kids app (en español!)

mother sees Kidsbeetv app on ipad with daughter

I try hard not to make screens my easy solution to get my children to be still and silent for a while. Because while screens may afford mom and dad some peace and quiet, I feel uneasy when I glance at them on the couch and see that unengaged look on their faces. That is why I celebrate finding content and games that are truly agreeable, edifying, and adequate for my children. Recently, the Spanish version of the KidsBeeTV app has been our go-to app to keep our daughters entertained and developmentally stimulated.

shows and games on KidsBeeTV app

Before I delve into the many qualities of KidsBeeTV, let me give you some context: my eldest girl, Isabel, just turned five, while my second daughter, Elena, is two and a half. They are close enough in age that they will play together well, but far enough apart that it is hard to find games and videos that actively interest both in equal measure. Surprisingly, the two sisters have found plenty of common ground in KidsBeeTV’s roster. They enjoy navigating the cheerful and intuitive interface and finding dynamic videos, all of them well-paced and packed with entertainment value. I like that these videos are short enough that the kids don’t lose interest, without resorting to that frenzied, overblown style that plagues modern cartoons, or that repetitive, drony tone that seems to be in vogue among young children’s content (I swear some cartoons just want to induce into our children a state of drooly hypnosis!)

Rest assured, the videos in KidsBeeTV are perfectly appropriate both in content and in form. Isabel particularly enjoys the company of Miss Linky, while Elena in turn is more interested in the visually-engaging On-Nom stories. The videos are all educational in one way or another, and I love the peace of mind that comes with knowing that all of the curated content is age-appropriate and that the app is completely ad-free –a far cry from the treacherous YouTube algorithm, which has been known to cue up in improper videos and advertisements!

I also love that many of the videos offered in KidsBeeTV are not of the sit-back-and-turn-off-your-brain type, but rather seek to keep the viewer engaged, constantly inviting them into interactive play (singing, dancing, what have you!). Oh, and did I mention the app works great both in English and Spanish? This is perhaps one of the app’s greatest qualities, for I know I can rely on this one platform to aid in my children’s education, catering to the two pillars that are the English and Spanish languages. Since we prefer to speak Spanish at home, the newly released KidsBeeTV’s Spanish version is perfect for us, as it has some of their favorite shows translated into Spanish. You can also try the KidsBeeTV app in English here! They are both available for iOS and Android.

I prefer having my children play interactive games rather than passively watching videos. KidsBeeTV also excels on this front, providing a wide range of games that are both deeply educational and fun. Isa and Elena are particularly fond of the card memory games, and the app enables a two-player option so that siblings can play together on one screen. There are also countless games that teach language and math, as well as many others that bolster creativity (you can’t go wrong with a painting game!)

All in all, I highly recommend KidsBeeTV to parents who, like me, stress about managing their children’s screen time. This app is a nice little oasis in a world saturated with content and screens, as it is composed of perfectly curated videos and enriching games. I especially recommend it to parents who have kids relatively close in age who could play games together on a single screen. What other apps do you use with your kids? Let me know if you try KidsBeeTV in the comments!
