Are you short of gift ideas for Mother’s Day?
Mothers’ Day has become a bit too commercial. But we know that sending a random gift isn’t enough.
What could be “enough” when it comes to our moms, anyway?
Call me old-fashioned, but I believe that we need to show our love in all the ways we can. And if we’re adding a gift to the mix, we ought to find out about the things our mom is passionate about and truly get her something she wants.
I know I can’t speak for all moms, but I am a mother of two and a passionate cook, so I can at least give you tips on what would a cook like.
As a foodie, I love to have nice things around me when I cook. Even more important than how nice a product looks, sometimes it’s just crucial to have great food gear to work my magic in the kitchen or make things easier. Because of this, I chose some of the best gifts any foodie mom could need (or “want”?).
Who deserves the best but moms, right?
Let’s get to it!
Aerogarden Harvest
Cooking with fresh herbs is the best. The scent and benefits of green herbs like basil and mint are as its best when they’re fresh.
That’s why I think the Aerogarden Harvest is a great gift for any foodie. It’s practical to have fresh green herbs at hand, and the gadget doesn’t require gardening skills to get good results.
It comes with a selection of seeds, and the basics to start right away. If anything, I would add cilantro and oregano seeds, because they’re very important for some of my recipes!
Phillips Turbostar Airfryer
Since my mom gave me an airfryer as a present, I have tried to make pizza, tacos, donuts, and churros with it!
Not every single recipe has worked as good as expected. But, it’s a very useful appliance that helps cooking healthier recipes at home.
During the last few years, airfryers became quite popular, and it’s more common to find one in every home.
And if you feel your mom would like to experiment with new recipes, it’s good to have one for that too!
KitchenAid Stand Mixer
A good stand mixer isn’t a must, but makes life a lot easier. And making a mother’s life easier matters a lot.
It’s quite practical and versatile for all sorts of recipes, but it works especially well for moms that love to bake delicious cakes and cookies.
Instant Pot 7-in-1 Multi-Use Programmable Cooker with Instant Pot accessories
Moms at some point need to acknowledge that counterspace is limited. It’s tough, but it’s true.
And what could be nicer to deal with it than a multicooker?
Dozens of recipes are minutes away using a pressure cooker, and this 7-in-1 multicooker is even more versatile than regular ones. I suggest to give the Instant Pot accessories along with the pressure cooker, since they’re helpful and match perfectly.
Still, be careful. If your mom loves her old pressure cooker, it will be better to try with another gift! (nobody wants to get your mom angry over her kitchen appliances).
Marcato Atlas 150 Pasta Maker
Making pasta at home helps you try different tastes and colors. Moreover, fresh pasta is more tender and flavorful.
Having a pasta maker at home is completely worthwhile, and if your mom is a foodie pasta-lover, it’s hard to find a better gift.
RED Crab Spoon Holder & Steam Releaser by OTOTO
We all have caught our moms struggling to find a proper place to put the spoon while cooking.
As curious and funny this little crab looks, it’s actually helpful. I like it!
Sushi Making kit (Delamu 21 pieces with beginner’s guide)
Sushi is one of those love-it-or-hate-it kind of food. And if your mom is a sushi-lover, she might love to learn how to make it at home.
This Sushi Making kit brings everything anyone could possibly need to make sushi at home. Even a handy beginners guide to help your mom with those first steps. Yet, I am sure that a YouTube video can be quite helpful too.
It’s not a bad idea to make sushi together with your mom the first few times. Learning can be challenging and funny too!
Cuisinart Spice and Nuts grinder
Sure, freshly ground black pepper is aromatic. But an electric grinder allows a foodie to try all kinds of new and wild ideas, beyond its most basic and evident use.
I wouldn’t recommend to grind coffee with this blade grinder, but your mom can try many different tricks and tips with this one.
Oster cordless electric corkscrew with accessories
Nobody wants to fight forever with a wine bottle to open it. We all have been at a party, waiting for someone to open a wine bottle. For sure, if your mom likes to enjoy a cup of wine now and then, this is a handy gadget to have.
Additionally, this set comes with an aerating pourer and a couple of vaccuum stoppers. These are nice accesories to have to preserve wine quality for a longer time and enjoy it properly.
Joseph Joseph Adjustable rolling pin
Flattening dough isn’t too challenging, but getting the right measures can be hard.
This adjustable rolling pin looks good and helps to get more uniform results. It’s great for baking moms and it’s helpful to make an occassional pizza too.
Hamilton Beach smooth touch Electric can opener
Opening cans with a manual can opener isn’t just uncomfortable, but it can be dangerous too. Having an electric can opener in the kitchen makes everything a lot easier and safer.
Many practical and quick recipes like tuna sandwiches and burritos depend on canned food. This electric can opener will deal with this menial task in seconds, so that your mom can focus in something more interesting.
Spiralizer 7-Blade Vegetable Slicer
If your mom loves salads and veggie pasta, the Spiralizer is a great gift option.
This slicer helps to make more impressive food presentations. And the slicing itself can be a bit mesmerizing (or relaxing).
Additionally, if your mom cooks no-gluten or veggie dishes, the Spiralizer adds a lot of color and versatility to plant-based recipes.
Well, what do you think? I hope you found useful gift ideas for Mother’s Day.
If you get one of these gifts, check some of my recipes so you can give it a try with your mom, soon enough.
