INGREDIENTS
For the brownie
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1.5 large eggs (what I do is to beat an egg and add half of it to the mix. You’re going to need the other half for the cookie)
- ¾ cup granulated sugar (white)
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 1 ½ tsp liquid vanilla
- ⅓ cup + 2 tbsp flour
- ¾ cup cocoa powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp baking powder
For the cookie
- ½ cup + 1 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 egg and a half (use the other half you didn’t use before)
- 1 tsp liquid vanilla
- 1 ½ cup flour
- ¾ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
STEPS
Brownie:
- Add the butter to a bowl and start adding the brown sugar little by little while mixing, then add vanilla, salt, and gradually the flour, mix well. Next, incorporate the baking powder, cocoa powder, and eggs.
- Then, pour the mix into a skillet or a pan (make sure to put parchment paper at the bottom) and spread it well. Set aside while you make the cookie.
Cookie:
- Add the softened butter into a bowl and using a mixer or a spatula, start adding the sugars. While mixing, add the vanilla, eggs and flour, salt and baking soda. Finally, add the chocolate chips and incorporate them.
- Add the cookie dough to the skillet, and spread it carefully on top of the brownie mix. Be gentle because the cookie dough is thicker and it could ruin the bottom part.
- Bake it in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 35-40 minutes. Keep an eye on it.
- Once the brookie it’s done, let it cool for about 15 minutes and serve.
