Heart-shaped treats are great to fit in the most romantic season of the year. Love motifs are everywhere as Valentine’s day approaches. Still, we don’t need to restrict ourselves from using cute things now and then.

On the contrary, heart-shaped treats are an excellent way to show your love and share it with the people you care about the most. And it applies to any special occasion or any time we feel like it.

I know that Valentine’s day has become a commercial thing. Still, I believe that it’s an excellent opportunity to express our affection to friends, family, and spouses. And to all the people we care about, for that matter.

And what better way to celebrate love and friendship than giving an edible present?

💡 Cool tip: if you pick gluten-free marshmallows and gluten-free sugar pearls, you can also adapt this treat for celiac diets.

Edible gifts are the best when they’re as delicious and cute as this heart-shaped treats. It’s a no-bake recipe that’s pretty easy, and it’s great to make it with kids.

What you need

  • Heart-shaped cookie cutter
  • Bamboo skewer sticks
  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking tray
  • Parchment paper

Tips for making Honey Nut Cheerios Heart-Shaped Treats

Although it’s a pretty easy recipe, I learned that it’s essential to bear in mind a couple of things to get it nicely done.

Melting marshmallows with butter

To get nice and rich melted marshmallows, start by melting butter. Be careful not to burn the butter, as it heats quickly.

Stir the marshmallows with a spat, looking at the bottom of the pot. As soon as they melt entirely, take them out of the stove.

Mixing melted marshmallows with Honey Nut Cheerios

Handling the marshmallows and Honey Nut Cheerios mixture can be messy. It’s easier to press the mixture using your hands and parchment paper.
