Before facing the hazards of Stranger Things, our heroes used to share a USS Butterscotch at Scoops Ahoy!
Stranger Things brought back the colorful 1980s nostalgia, along with all its conspiracy plots, cold war paranoia, and vibrant fashion.
For many people, the most iconic recipe in the series is this Stranger Things Ice Cream recipe, which brings together a Sundae, a Banana Split, and an Ice Cream Cone.
Putting it all together is simple, and it’s fun to recreate the adventures of the Scoop Trop. If you want an extra challenge, you can use my homemade ice cream recipe.
Recreating The Stranger Things Ice Cream: The USS Butterscotch
If there is anything realistic about Stranger Things is Scoops Ahoy and the typical town atmosphere of Hawkins, Indiana.
It’s easy to relate with the Scoop Trop and their routine. And the easiest way to connect with our curious and heroic friends is through the USS Butterscotch Ice Cream!
The first thing to do is to find the appropriate flavors. Although Baskin’ Robbins offers a Butterscotch Ice Cream flavor, you can try your favorite vanilla or praline one.
Strawberry and chocolate flavors are straightforward, but you can use triple choc or some alternatives with strawberry chunks in them.
Options are endless!
To serve the ice cream, you can try to find an adequate container like these in colors or this one in white. Or even better, you can ask for an extra one at your favorite ice cream shop, as I did!
Syrups and whipped cream are essential to bringing that sundae-ish touch, and there are even some combos available with the three flavors.
Maraschino cherries are literally the cherry on top. They look beautiful and add a characteristic taste and juiciness to our ice cream.
