- 2 ripe but firm bananas
- 2 cups of chocolate chips, melted
Decor
- 1 tsp of sprinkles
- 2 tbsps of shredded coconut
- 2 tbsps of crushed peanuts
- 2 tbsps of crushed Maria cookies (about 5-6 cookies)
Peel and cut bananas in halves. Then insert a popsicle-like stick in the center of each one.
Put the bananas in the freezer for 4 hours.
Once the bananas are frozen, you can prepare the chocolate coating.
Melt your chocolate using a bain-marie method. Place a heat-resistant bowl (i.e., borosilicate glass, ceramic, steel) over a pot with hot water. The bowl should submerge only halfway in the water so that your chocolate chips don't get wet.
Use a protective glove or towel to handle the pot, as it will be hot. Once the chocolate is melted and uniform, you can turn off the heat.
Introduce one banana at a time in the chocolate, spinning it and helping yourself with a spatula to fully cover the banana.
Take excess out with the spatula and decorate with your favorite toppings.
Place the chocobananos in a glass where they can stand still without touching each other. Then put them in the freezer for 5 minutes.
You can pick other toppings you like better, like graham crackers, chocolate sprinkles, Oreos, peanut butter cups, cereal, granola, mixed nuts, among others.
The sky is the limit!
