Instructions

  • Chill a bowl in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  • Take the bowl out of the freezer and pour cold heavy whipping cream into it.
  • Beat the cream at high speed to make it thicker. Once you get a thicker consistency, add very cold and sweet condensed milk (I recommend keeping it in the freezer for 4 hours before making the ice cream.)
  • Mix well to get a thicker, sweeter, and uniform ice cream. Add a bit of vanilla extract for some flavor, and that's our base!
  • Take a separate bowl for each color. I chose 5 to create my unicorn rainbow, but you can use as much or little as you want.
  • Add equal parts of our ice cream base to each bowl. Leave some in the mixing bowl to have white ice cream.
  • Color each of the other bowls using a few drops of liquid food coloring per bowl. If you use gel coloring, the tones will be more intense.
  • Mix each bowl until you get a uniform mix.
  • Drop spoonfuls of ice cream into your ice cream container. Try to keep the colors separate. The smaller the spoonfuls, the more colors will have each ball.
  • Fill the container and close the lid. Then stick it in the freezer for 8 hours or overnight.
  • When spooning your ice cream, soak the spoon in hot water after each ball so that the colors don't mix.
  • And there you have it, unicorn rainbow ice cream!
