Mexican Hot Chocolate Brownies

Yummy frosted brownies that taste like Mexican Hot Chocolate - perfect for the holidays!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 box Betty Crocker Delights Supreme Chocolate Chunk Brownies mix
  • ¼ cup almonds crushed
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground cayenne pepper

Frosting

  • ½ cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • cup whole milk
  • cup Mexican hot chocolate round bar, grated (about 1 bar)
  • 2 Tbsps crushed almonds dusted with ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Follow the steps on a box of Betty Crocker’s Supreme Chocolate Chunk box (add the mix to a bowl and mix with egg, oil and water).
  • Add a few pinches of cayenne pepper and mix well, the cinnamon and mix well.
  • Bake brownies at 350F for 28 mins
  • In the meantime, make frosting: beat room-temperature butter until soft.
  • Gradually add powdered sugar. If the mixture becomes too thick, gradually add milk. Alternate between powdered sugar and milk to reach frosting consistency.
  • Take brownies out from the oven and allow them to cool completely before slicing them and frosting them.
  • Frost brownies and decorate with some more crushed almonds sprinkled with a bit of cinnamon for a more aromatic touch!
